Emergency Preparedness

BurnFree Industrial Burn Kit - Emergency Preparedeness BurnFree Industrial Burn Kit - Emergency Preparedness

Emergency preparedness is an important part of protecting your family.

In the United States, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) recommends each family and individual have a disaster supply and first aid kit.

A first aid kit should include a first aid for burn product. (http://www.ready.gov/basic-disaster-supplies-kit).

BurnFree products come in several different sizes to meet your emergency preparedness needs such as single dose packets, 2 oz. and 4 oz. bottles, sterile burn dressings, burn care kits, and fire/trauma blankets.

In an emergency, there is a possibility that locating running water might be difficult, and if you have a burn, what do you do?

BurnFree gel is 95% pure di-ionized water, is very viscous, and is thickened with a gelling agent to enable the solution to stay in place over the wound site without running off. This gel dissipates heat on contact, draws the heat out of the burn, which reduces possible tissue damage and further burn progression.

BurnFree does not evaporate. It cools through transference of the heat into the gel system and away from the wound. While water is still effective as a first aid treatment for burns, it is difficult to keep in place and could cause contamination in the wound. BurnFree gel allows for effective and easy cooling directly on the burn. It protects exposed tissue and nerves, while conveniently giving you the freedom to go about your day.

BurnFree Sterile Burn and Wound Dressings are also used on all types of burns, including chemical burns and friction burns. The dressings are constructed of a soft open-cell foam, and are saturated with the BurnFree solution. BurnFree dressings efficiently cover the burned area and are elastic enough to accommodate possible swelling or the need to flex joints. The dressings are a one-step process. The foam carrier’s high absorption capabilities and gel saturation allow for complete delivery of the gel to the burn site. BurnFree dressings are non-adherent and will not stick to skin, unlike gauze and other dressings currently being sold in the first aid for burn market. The inert foam base will not shed threads, strands, fibers, etc., that might become embedded in the wound, in fact, the wetting agent in the dressings help encourage the debridement process.

BurnFree gels and dressings show excellent performance, when used on sunburns as well. Using BurnFree gels and/or BurnFree Sunburn Rescue on sunburns will cool the burn, relieve sunburn pain, and stop the progression of the injury.

BurnFree never uses anesthetic drugs such as lidocaine in its formulation. Lidocaine can cause allergic reactions, predominantly in children, and is prohibited by many local regulations worldwide.

Emergency Preparedness is vitally important to have in every household, vehicle, and work environment. Be sure to add BurnFree products to your first aid kits and 72 hour kits today.
